Week of prayer and fasting for eric gaudion
The idea is for a week of fasting and prayer, starting Monday 29th June. We would like to encourage all groups who meet during the week to dedicate some time for praying for Eric Gaudion and for others who are sick.
We will also be having special meetings on:
Wednesday 1st July, 8pm - Wednesday home groups meet at the Centre for worship and prayer.
Thursday 2nd July, 8pm - Thursday home groups to meet at the Centre for worship and prayer.
These are open for anybody to come along to, you don't have to be part of a group and you can come to both evenings if you wish!
Eric and Diane Gaudion joined the church about a year ago. Eric had to step down from full time leadership at Shiloh church because of ill health. However, he still has a vision for his ministry in the future and he wants to be involved in Church on the Rock. He and Diane have both said they feel loved and supported by the church here.
Eric has been seriously ill with pancreatitis for 12 years now and we feel that one way the church can support him and Diane is to stand with them in prayer. This is why we are calling the church to fast and pray for a week at the beginning of July. They are in a battle and we need to fight the battle with them.
Here are some encouragements to pray:
- Olivia was led to some verses in 2 Corinthians 1 v8-11 which describe the role the church has to play in supporting them. Paul and his followers were saved by God from " mortal peril". The passage says:
"God will continue to deliver while you co-operate by praying for us. Then with so many people praying for our deliverance, there will be many to give thanks on our behalf for God's gracious favour to us"
- Revelation 5 v8, mentioned by James on Sunday, "the elders were holding bowls of incense which contained the prayers of the saints." Our prayers are brought before God's throne.
- The parable of the persistent widow, Luke 18. Jesus told this parable to show that we should keep on praying and not give up. Eric and Diane need a miracle and we should not give up praying for one.
There are others who are seriously ill who need our prayers too and we don't want to neglect them. Please send in requests so that we can pray for them too during the week.
Love Dorien

| | | Kay Shackleton (Guest) | 20/06/2009 19:54 | Whenever I have been praying in the spirit recently the name Diane has been coming up in my prayers. I wondered who this Diane was? Today God showed me that it was Diane Gaudion. This really encouraged me to pray more and more in spirit.

| | | | Eric Gaudion (Guest) | 27/06/2009 17:26 | Thank you so much for standing with us in this trial. We are so grateful to God for your care and your prayers. On Monday we travel to London again to meet with the surgeon on Tuesday to plan the way ahead surgically. Frankly, even this major surgery, if it succeeds, will only prevent further damage. Only God's healing power can restore the damage done in the past and ease the pain. But He is able! We can achieve so much more together than we do apart. Bless you all. Eric and Diane
